About
Built for drivers, not insurers.
Crash & Cover is an independent editorial blog covering car accident insurance — the claims, the policies, the legal rights, and the news that quietly decide what happens to your wallet after a crash.
We exist because most "insurance content" online is written by insurance carriers themselves, by lead-generation sites that sell your information, or by AI farms with no editorial standards. We do something different: we research, source, and explain — in plain language, with every claim traceable to a primary source.
Our standards
- Every claim, statistic, and legal point is sourced.
- We disclose any affiliate or sponsorship relationship in plain language.
- We never accept payment to change a recommendation.
- We update older articles when laws or rates change materially.
What we cover
Our reporting is organized into six standing sections:
- Car Accident Claims — Step-by-step guides to filing, negotiating, and winning your auto accident claim.
- Auto Insurance Tips — Smart, money-saving strategies for choosing, comparing, and lowering your auto coverage.
- Legal Rights & Advice — Know your rights at the scene, with adjusters, and in court — explained in plain English.
- Insurance Coverage Explained — Liability, collision, comprehensive, UM/UIM — the policy jargon, decoded.
- Real Accident Stories & Lessons — Illustrative case studies of crashes, claims, and settlements — and the lessons every driver can learn.
- Insurance News & Updates — Updates on premiums, regulation, court rulings, and the auto insurance market.

Who writes Crash & Cover
Crash & Cover is written and edited by the Crash & Cover editorial team — a small, independent team that researches, writes, and fact-checks every article. We are not insurance agents, adjusters, or attorneys, and we don't claim to be. What we do is read the primary sources most drivers never have time to — NHTSA data, the Insurance Information Institute, NAIC bulletins, state insurance-department rules, and major insurer filings — and translate them into plain, accurate, fully sourced explanations.
Every article is checked for accuracy and updated when laws, rates, or rules change materially. Where the right answer depends on your specific situation, we say so and point you to a licensed professional.
Crash & Cover provides general information only and is not a substitute for advice from a licensed insurance agent or attorney.
